Showing no sign of being influenced by Zac Efron’s version in the 1988 movie, Nick Jonas wowed fans over the weekend at a sold-out, three-night triumph in Hairspray at the Hollywood Bowl.
Nick, 18, recreated Zac’s role as Link Larkin in what critics are praising as a flawless performance of the play, which recounts the story of a plus-sized girl who campaigns for civil rights through a dance show in her home town of Baltimore in the mid-1960′s.
Nick’s role even required him to kiss Marissa Jaret Winokur, who is twenty-years older than him, but girlfriend Delta Goodrem, 26, seemed untroubled; She was seen smiling throughout the performance and took to Twitter when the curtain came down to praise the whole cast;
“Congratulations to the cast of Hairspray at the Hollywood Bowl. Magical!” she writes. “Blown away by @nickjonas Performance. He was the perfect Link.”
Nick, who previously starred in ‘Les Misérables in Concert’ as Marius Pontmercy clearly knows how to please women as fans say Marissa seemed enthralled by her co-star. So despite an eight-year age gap it seems fate bodes well for his romance with Ms. Goodrem.
