Zac Efron Helps Out Michelle Pfeiffer In “New Years Eve”
On the measure of the first trailer, Zac Efron appears to have a considerable role in the upcoming romantic comedy “New Year’s Eve.” The film boasts a stellar cast including Robert De Niro and Ashton Kutcher, but the teaser clip suggests Efron’s character will feature prominently.
The trailer, which hit the web on Tuesday and lasts for just over 1 minute, begins with the voiceover, “Some people swear there’s no beauty left in the world, no magic. Then how do you explain the entire world coming together on one night? To celebrate the hope of a new year.”
Efron is seen casually leaning on his bike in New York, before Michelle Pfeiffer’s character hands him a list, saying, “My New Year’s Eve resolutions. If you can make these come true by midnight, you get these,” before revealing a wad of tickets – Efron responds, “Four tickets to that party? You called the right guy!”
Later in the trailer, the actor reads from the list, saying, “Resolution number two – be amazed?” After brief glimpses of Sarah Jessica Parker, Halle Berry and Katherine Heigl, the trailer concludes with De Niro claiming, “Nothing beats New York on New Year’s Eve.”

Young Stars Becoming Movie Dealmakers
In Hollywood, it used to be you had to produce before you produced. But it’s not the case anymore with a crop of teenage and young adult stars who are moving onto the backlots of Tinseltown with production companies. Selena Gomez, 19, who is starring in “Monte Carlo,” has a development deal.
Gomez is just one of several young actors – including 23-year-old Zac Efron and 19-year-old Taylor Lautner – producing their own movies. These actors have their own production companies, but they’re not necessarily calling the shots in Hollywood – yet.
According to one veteran producer, for many young actors, production deals provide a way to pay a manager or family member who’s been an informal adviser without having to take money out of the actor’s salary. And producing is a way for the actors to select some of the movies they make.
“This provides an element of control, and in this business, every inch of that is pretty powerful,” Efron said in an interview last year.
Studios often cut production deals with actors as a way to sustain a relationship with someone they want to star in their movies. But these young actors may not even be doing the actual producing. Taylor Lautner’s dad, Dan, with whom Taylor partnered with to open his production company, is listed as the producer of their company’s first movie, this fall’s “Abduction.” And Gomez’s mom reportedly runs her production company.
“There are tons of production companies headed up by talent. The studios will give them a deal, overhead and office space, but most of the pictures never get made,” says one entertainment attorney.
Still, Universal reportedly just acquired a project for Gomez’s two-and-a-half-year-old production company earlier this year. And Efron has seven projects in development.
Ultimately it’s up to the actor to determine whether their production pact becomes a mere vanity deal or a significant business venture. Natalie Portman, who just turned 30, has begun to establish herself as a successful actor-producer, releasing three films that she starred in and produced, including “No Strings Attached,” a $25 million movie that made nearly $150 million at the global box office.

Nessa'lein so sauer!
Die Turtel-Bilder von Ashley Tisdale (26) und Zac Efron (23) machten fast genauso schnell die Runde wie die süßen Urlaubfotos von Justin Bieber (17) und Selena Gomez (18). Dumm nur, dass auch Vanessa Hudgens (22) die Bilder ihrer besten Freundin und ihres Ex-Freundes beim ausgiebigen Feiern und Flirten am Strand zu Gesicht bekam. Denn jetzt soll Eiszeit herrschen zwischen den HSM-Girls.
Irgendwie verständlich, wenn man bedenkt, dass Zac und Vanessa fünf Jahre lang DAS Teenietraumpaar in Hollywood waren und sich nur schweren Herzens trennten. Für Zac war der heiße Flirt an Ashleys Geburtstag seinen eigenen Angaben nach zwar nur dazu gedacht, um Vany eifersüchtig zu machen und sie schließlich zurückzugewinnen, aber der Schuss ging ordentlich nach hinten los.
Ashley versucht derweil, in Kontakt mit ihrer Freundin zu treten, bisher allerdings vergebens. Laut der Bravo soll die dunkelhaarige Schauspielerin ihrer HSM-Kollegin Ashley lediglich eine Botschaft übermittelt haben, die eindeutig zeigt, dass die einstige Freundschaft zerbrochen ist. „Ich will nicht mehr mit dir reden, nichts von dir wissen!“ Das hat gesessen!
Jetzt heißt es wohl nur abwarten und Tee trinken, bis die jungen Starlets sich wieder verzeihen. Zac allerdings braucht sich anscheinend keine Hoffnungen mehr zu machen, dass er das Herz seiner hübschen Ex zurückerobern kann.

Universal Lands 7-Figure Pitch Deal For R-Rated Seth Rogen-Zac Efron Comedy
EXCLUSIVE: After a feverish day-long bidding battle, I'm hearing that Universal Pictures is closing a 7-figure deal for an untitled comedy that will have Seth Rogen and Zac Efron attached to star. Rogen and Evan Goldberg will produce through their Point Grey Pictures banner. I'm told that this was an incredible deal that capitalized on the R-rated successes of the summer, and that beyond the 7-figures for writers Andrew Cohen and Brendan O'Brien, Rogen will be paid $8 million with a separate low seven-figure producing fee.
Several studios bid on the pitch that will be written by Cohen and O'Brien, who, like Rogen and Goldberg, are Judd Apatow proteges. Cohen and O'Brien will be executive producers. The pitch will be an R-rated comedy that has the tone of Old School. Rogen plays a regular guy who lives near an alpha male fraternity house. Efron is a member of the fraternity, whose raucous behavior wreaks havoc on the other guy's family life. The scribes hatched the idea and brought it to Goldberg and it was packaged with Efron and Rogen. The bidding came down to Universal and New Line. Uni made Bridesmaids and New Line made Horrible Bosses, both of which were big R-rated hits. CAA and Alchemy Entertainment repped Efron, and CAA repped the writers. UTA and Principal repped Rogen and UTA repped Goldberg.

Seth Rogen & Zac Efron Team For R-Rated Comedy At Univer
While Universal killed two high profile, risky, ambitious efforts recently, putting the kibosh on Guillermo Del Toro‘s “At The Mountains Of Madness” and Ron Howard‘s “The Dark Tower,” the studio isn’t afraid to spend money. It’s just that those holding the purse strings are choosing wisely and if you’ve been paying attention to the box office this summer, there is one genre that is not only making mad bank, but is also, generally speaking, pretty cost-effective: the R-rated comedy. “The Hangover Part II,” “Horrible Bosses” and most importantly from Universal’s perspective, “Bridesmaids” have been smash successes. So no surprise then that they’re still willing to throw even more money behind the R-rated laffer.
In what is a pretty surprising and unlikely pairing, Seth Rogen and Zac Efron will team for a current untitled film in the vein of “Old School.” Based on a pitch by Andrew Cohen and Brendan O’Brien, Apatow proteges whose work caused a bidding war, the film will find Rogen playing the straight man, just a regular dude who lives near a frat house that Efron belongs to, and whose outlandish behavior affects Rogen’s family life. Certainly, it’s a chance for Efron to shake up his squeaky clean, wholesome image, something he has been dying to based on the array of more adult driven films he’s been attaching himself to over the last year or so including Lee Daniels’ “The Paperboy” and the remake of “Snabba Cash” among a handful of others.
What was that we said about Universal dropping mad dollars? Rogen will apparently add $8 million into his bank account just for starring in the film and taking home another seven figures for producing alongside longtime collaborator Evan Goldberg. Damn. No director has been set yet nor a start date been determined. But it looks like everyone’s fave “High School Musical” star is ready to seriously fucking party.

Er hätte seinen Freund davon abhalten sollen selbst Auto zu fahren, aber ist Ryan nicht alt genug um selbst zu wissen was er macht? Zac hat alles richtig gemacht. Taylor Schilling Gushes Over ‘The Lucky One’ Co-Star Zac Efron! She Says He’s ‘The Best’!
We caught up with Taylor Schilling at the Crazy, Stupid, Love premiere in NYC and couldn’t help but ask what it’s like to work with one of the hottest men in Hollywood, Zac Efron!
“Incredible,” Taylor tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “He’s a frreaking fantastic actor, too. It was incredible.”
Schilling spent months in the South filming and hanging out with Efron.
“We were all in New Orleans for four months and it was just like, he’s really someone who is coming to his own. He’s the best,” she says.
And can we expect a romance connection between the two onscreen?
“Most definitely,” she says. “It’s a Nicholas Sparks movie. It’s one of those epic romances, it’s very sweet.”

Zac Efron to play Sub-Mariner?
Zac Efron is reportedly ready to dive onto the big screen as superhero Namor the Sub-Mariner.
The former High School Musical hunk is believed to be Marvel Studios' preferred choice to play the comic book character, who is one of the world's first superheroes, after making his debut in 1939.
'Zac is seen as perfect for the role,' an insider is quoted as saying. 'He can fit the role physically and has the acting skill necessary and he has a fan base to help make the movie a hit. Namor is an unusual character but the underwater aspect is something producers are very excited to be putting onto the big screen.'
Dubbed the first comic book antihero, the short-fused prince of an underwater kingdom is a popular character and is one of Marvel's most enduring heroes.
While Zac is a self-confessed superhero geek and was linked to the role of Superman and Spider-Man, he has always been reluctant to star in one.
'It hasn’t been the right time necessarily, or it’s too early,' he said in an interview last year. 'I don’t feel that I’ve earned it quite yet, to be honest. The people that you see them find for superheroes, you go, 'Oh yeah, that’s great. That guy is perfect, what a great idea.' Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern? You go, 'Finally, he’s going to do something great! We’ve been waiting for it, he’s done all these other things and now I want to see him as that character.''

Bei der Verleihung der Sportauszeichung für das "Beste Team" bei den ESPY-Awards in Los Angeles kam Justin Bieber mit einem Rennfahrer-Anzug auf die Bühne. Zac Efron ist lieber live bei Rennen dabei und trug auch einen Rennfahrer-Overall bei den NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in Newton, Iowa. Dort fuhr er zwar nicht beim Rennen mit, stand aber für Dreharbeiten für seinen neuen Film "Heartland" neben der Rennstrecke.

Efron Fans Will Race To Newton Today
You may have missed your opportunity for a cameo in "High School Musical," but today you have a chance to show your face in another Zac Efron flick. The 23-year-old stars alongside actor Dennis Quaid in a new untitled film, and at least one scene will be filmed this afternoon during the Prairie Meadows 200 ARCA Series race at the Iowa Speedway in Newton. We've answered five burning questions you may have about today's shoot.
Q: Zac Efron is filming in Iowa? What's this movie all about?
A: The untitled drama is directed by Ramin Bahrani, who critic Roger Ebert called "the director of the decade." Zac Efron plays an Iowa teen whose plans to become a race car driver are in conflict with those of his farming father, played by "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" star Dennis Quaid. Film producer Pamela Koffler estimates the movie will be released in 2012.
Iowa Speedway president Jerry Jauron expects his Newton venue to be featured prominently in one scene.
"Efron's character catches a big break to race, and it just so happens that he races in the ARCA races at the Iowa Speedway," Jauron said.
Q: If you attend today's race, will you really be on camera?
A: Well, you might be. Film cameras are expected to capture Quaid cheering from the speedway's stands along with sweeping shots of the 30,000 capacity grandstand crowd at the Newton track. Still, fans can experience the action of being on a set.
"The one thing this film offers is the opportunity for a large group of people to be able to be in the process," Jauron said.
Jauron guarantees that everyone who shows up today will be able to purchase a ticket and advises attendees to be seated by 3:15 p.m. The race begins at 4:15 p.m.
Amanda Emerson, 25, of Des Moines, has tickets to today's race - and stars in her eyes.
"I have never been in a movie scene before," she wrote in an email.
"How awesome would that be to say you were in a movie starring Zac Efron and Dennis Quaid?"
Q: Why is this scene being filmed in Iowa?
A: The movie is actually set in Iowa, and more generally, in the "Midwestern farm region," said film producer Pamela Koffler in a phone interview from New York City.
At the moment, today's Iowa Speedway scene is the only one scheduled to be shot in the Hawkeye state. The majority of the drama is being filmed in DeKalb County, Ill.
Illinois offers a tax credit of 30 percent off all qualified in-state production expenditures. Former Iowa Gov. Chet Culver suspended Iowa's film tax credit program in September 2009 after an audit revealed mismanagement.
Q: How will the Speedway factor into the shoot?
A: Most footage will be of the infield, however, shots of the grandstand crowd will factor into the filming, Jauron said. Fans who have purchased tickets at iowaspeedway.com have been entered into a drawing, and 100 winners will sit on the inside of the track, giving them an up-close view of the action from just 20 feet away.
Q: Will the race be delayed because of the movie?
A: Jauron says no. This is a one-take shot: ARCA Series announcers will belt Efron's movie name (rumored to be Dean Whipple). Efron will walk across the pre-race stage, shake the hands of several sponsors and Jauron, then proceed to Pit Road, hop in the car and get strapped in. Just before the race begins, Efron will jump out of the car, and the real driver will hop in and race.
"The goal is for Zac to look as if he's been racing his whole life," Jauron said.
Koffler hopes the scene will be as realistic as possible.
"We're there not to impact how the event unfolds. We're there to capture what it would really be like," she said.

Zac Efron Shoots Movie In Iowa
“It’s controlled chaos here at Iowa Speedway this weekend. We’ve been working on this project just over a month and actually got the go-ahead less than 10 days ago or 11 days ago. So now, we have to squeeze a lot in the next 48 hours because most of the film that’s shot here is going to be done today and tomorrow when the race fans are in the grandstands,” said Jerry Jauron, Iowa Speedway president.
Actors Zac Efron and Dennis Quaid are at the racetrack to tape scenes for a new, as-yet untitled racing movie.
“This is big stuff. You got A-list Zac Efron, Dennis Quaid right here at the Iowa Speedway. Chance of a lifetime to be part of a movie,” said Jauron.
Fans are invited to be part of the movie magic.
“One hundred lucky ticket holders are going to be chosen tomorrow, pulled out of the grandstands so they can be in front of the stage when we do the pre-race experience, so they’ll be 20 to 25 feet from the stars,” said Jauron. “We need the fans to play off the racing. The racing to play off the stars. I mean, all three of them are coming together.”
Tickets for the Prairie Meadows 200 ARCA Series Stock Car and Coca-Cola 200 presented by Hy-Vee NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races are on sale for $25.
Fans purchasing tickets online will be entered into a drawing, and 100 lucky winners will have the chance to participate in the pre-race festivities and could appear in the crowd scenes in the movie, speedway officials said.
The film is an Iowa-based movie starring Efron as a rural teen aspiring to become a professional race car driver. Quaid plays Efron’s father in the film.
Producers will shoot Efron walking across the pre-race stage, Quaid cheering from the stands and stock car racing footage during the Prairie Meadows 200 scheduled to begin at 4:15 p.m.
“There are a lot of racetracks in America and we are very excited that Mr. Bahrani chose Iowa Speedway as the set for his movie,” said Iowa Speedway President Jerry Jauron. “I hope fans will take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see A-list celebrities and be part of a movie. Let’s show the film crew what Midwestern hospitality is all about!”

Does Zac Efron Have Four Nipples?
The strange saga of Zac Efron’s extra nipples begins in my email inbox, where an email from a publicist landed this afternoon. Dermatologist Dr Sandra Lee wants the world to know that Zac Efron has a third – and possible fourth – nipple. Her publicist included a photo with an arrow pointing to a Wahlbergian speck on Efron’s chest. How have we never noticed this before?
Supernumerary nipples are generally aligned along “mammary lines.” (Think of a female dog.) And so, when a man like Zac Efron has nipple-hued specks located symmetrically along his mammary lines, there is a strong possibility that they are “superfluous” nipples. As if male nipples weren’t superfluous enough already.
But are Efron’s chest specks really nipples? They could also dimples between his muscles. In Buzzfeed’s “25 Best Pictures of Zac Efron Shirtless” gallery, the maybe-nipples are visible in images 2, 6, 7, 10, 24, and 25. But where are they in images 1, 11, and 23? Shouldn’t maybe-nipples be consistent than that? Is Zac Efron a multi-nippled changeling?
A brief Google search reveals that, though superfluous nipple bloggers (yes, they exist!) have speculated about Efron’s nipples, the chatter has not broken into the mainstream. Until now! Thank you, Dr. Sandra Lee of Upland, California and PR spammer Katherine Rothman, for alerting us to this egregious blind spot in modern discourse.
